Fundraiser Event 2026

February 2026

Greetings,

I hope this past year was one of growth and success. Most certainly for us at Build Alberta Apprenticeships Foundation this past year has been full of blessings. We have onboarded two new school divisions, along with two new Builders, into the Building Futures program. In the past two years Build Alberta Apprenticeships Foundation has successfully doubled the number of school divisions running the Building Futures program, expanding it from 3 divisions in 2023 to 6 divisions in 2025.

Building Futures is a unique program that allows students to try all the different residential trade applications prior to entering the RAP program. It allows students to participate in the building of an entire house from start to finish in grade 10.

Building Futures is made possible through a collaborative effort from home builders, trade partners and educators. As the trade shortage in Alberta is a real crisis, this program provides a simple and effective solution for companies to grow the next generation of workers. 54% of students who go through the Building Futures program choose the path of apprenticeship.

This year Build Alberta Apprenticeships Foundation will be hosting its first ever Fundraiser in partnership with NAIT. This event will support Build Alberta Apprenticeships Foundation to continue expanding and supporting the Building Futures program provincewide.

It would be a true honor to have your company attend this event. This fundraiser will have a silent auction, 50/50, food and cocktails and celebrity guest speaker. We will hear from former graduates of Building Futures who will give testimony to how the program impacted their lives. February 26, NAIT Campus at the Productivity and Innovation Centre.  Cocktails Start at 5pm and the program starts at 6pm.

Table starting at $2,000 for 7 seats or $1,750 plus a silent auction item valued at minimum of $250.  Each table will have an additional seat for a Building Futures student.  Single tickets $250.

Tickets can be purchased at donations@buildapprenticeships.ca

Join us to support the next generation of trades in our province. May the New Year be the best year to date!

Sincerely,

Mike Lees
